2018 Athlete out of Oregon, Braden Lenzy, has committed to Notre Dame, again. As the majority of people who follow recruiting know, Lenzy was once a Irish commit and also a Oregon commit. He decommitted from the Irish and made a verbal to Oregon a few months back. Track was a big part of him switching things up and also the Oregon staff. Once Oregon’s Head Coach packed his things and headed to Florida State for the same position, he reopened his recruitment and that’s when things started to get going with the Irish again.

He visited campus for the Echoes banquet and I think from that point on, he realized the great relationships he had with the current commits and the opportunity at Notre Dame was not something to pass up on twice. He made it official on the last day of the early signing period that he’s Irish again. Braden has 11 offers from Oregon, USC, Stanford and others.
What Lenzy will bring to a South Bend:
The 6’1 180 pound athlete looks to come to South Bend and contribute at wide receiver but is also a very good cornerback, where a lot of other teams were recruiting him to play. With what the staff has with the group of guys who have now signed early to Notre Dame, the staff wants him at receiver, period. A lot of people are comparing him to Will Fuller because of his quickness, straight line speed and being a down field threat. If that turns out to be true, Irish fans will be very excited for years to come, and they should know that from his previous commitment too. The staff made an emphasis on quickness and speed when talking about this recruiting class and Lenzy is going to be a huge part of that. I would not be surprised if we see Lenzy next year returning kicks for the Irish. If you watch his film from junior to senior year, it’s fantastic seeing the progress of this kid. The jump is crazy from one year to the next. He could really be special and he’s only going to get better.
With early signing day coming to an end, the Irish now have 21 commits that have sent in their national letter of intent. From the scholarship numbers on the current ND roster, I would expect the staff to add, at most, 4 more kids to the class by February. We’ll see how it plays out in the next couple months but getting Lenzy back on board was such a big get for the staff.
Stay tuned and follow @IrishDaily10 for the latest updates on the Irish. Welcome back to the family, Braden!
