2019 cornerback out of Georgia, KJ Wallace, has committed to Notre Dame. Wallace was on campus for Junior Day this weekend and didn’t want to wait any longer than he needed. The campus and education aspect was I think what ultimately made up his mind and why he pulled the trigger. Along with the early opportunity at cornerback he will get, the relationships were really big as well from Coach Lyght to the current players. Also being from Georgia, Wallace has said that he’s pretty good friends with current Irish safety signee Derrick Allen, which was probably a nice boost as well. The Georgia talent has done extremely well at Notre Dame the past several years. At the moment, Wallace holds 14 offers from Stanford, Auburn, Penn State and more.

Get to know KJ Wallace:
The 5’10 175 pound cornerback had 63 tackles, 1 INT, 11 PBU, caught 40 passes for 530+ yards and ten total touchdowns. He’s a great athlete and has great speed on the outside. Also, his ability to tackle in the open field is what’s key for me here with Wallace. For his size he’s actually very physical which is another major positive as well. The Irish now hold 3 commitments in the 2019 class that now includes Wallace, QB Cade McNamara, and DT Jacob Lacey.
You have to give a ton of credit to Todd Lyght here. Being able to relate to Wallace as a former Notre Dame cornerback “star” was big and closing the deal was even bigger. Lyght got one of the guys he wanted and I don’t think it’s going to end anytime soon. Make sure to follow @irishdaily10 for the latest updates.
More to come.
