Notre Dame lands playmaker at Tight End

2018 tight end out of Georgia, Tommy Tremble, has committed to the Irish. Tremble was on campus with his family just a few months ago and returned for another visit for the Navy game.

Tremble watched Notre Dame demolish Southern Cal and the Irish hold off Navy in a classic triple option nail-biter. He took a few quick trips to other schools over the past few months but the visits to South Bend exceeded everything he thought prior to his decision and the Georgia legacy just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be apart of Notre Dame.

Michigan offered late and gave him a ton to think about as well during his visit and in-home coaches visit but everytime he got a chance to visit South Bend and talk with the coaches it just seemed to get better for him, with both the staff and player relationships. I think the in-home visits closed the deal here with Notre Dame. Academics were a huge contributor in this recruitment as well, like it always is with the Irish. Tremble holds 26 offers from Georgia, UCLA, Michigan, Tennessee and more.

What will Tremble bring to South Bend?

The 6’4 230 pound TE adds the perfect complement to current Irish commit George Takacs. Tremble is more of a spread out TE, in some ways like current Irish TE Alize Mack, whereas Takacs is a lot more solid as a blocker tight end. They can obviously do both well but their strengths really do complement each other.

This is a terrific pick up by the staff, especially with offensive coordinator Chip Long running a 2 tight end set on offense. Tremble broke his ankle at the beginning of his senior season and didn’t play the rest of the year but the staff is extremely high on this kid and what he will offer at Notre Dame, so I wouldn’t be overly concerned. He’ll be completely ready to go once he steps on campus.

Now, the tight end position is all finished with those two guys on board. The Irish now have 20 commits to the class and are looking to add more guys soon with the momentum mounting heading into the early singing period. Make sure to follow @irishdaily10 for all the latest news on Notre Dame.
