2018 OL out of California, Jarrett Patterson, has committed to Notre Dame. Previously committed to Arizona State, the battle came down to UCLA, the home favorite, and the Irish. In the end he decided to leave California and join one of the most consistent position groups year in and year out at Notre Dame. This was an outstanding get for the staff seeing they came in pretty late to the recruiting process for Patterson, offering him in early January.
He took an official visit to South Bend January 19th, loved it and on top of that, had quite a bit of in-home visits with the staff to really turn the tide towards the Irish. Quinn, Long, Polian and Kelly really made him feel like a priority and he was. The staff wanted him and they got them. Patterson holds 28 offers from Michigan, Auburn, Wisconsin and others.

Get to know Patterson:
For a 6’5 290 pound lineman, Patterson has excellent foot work, especially in pass protection. He’s good in run blocking and has good leg power to move blockers with ease. He knows the game of football very well so that is always a bonus for a guy on the offensive line. The biggest thing to me is how quick he is with his feet and getting to where he’s supposed to be. The Irish needed a left tackle and Patterson is more than capable of handling that position. He’s played right tackle as well so that doesn’t hurt either.
All in all, this was a termendous snag for the Irish and really a much needed get. Patterson now joins Cole Mabry, John Dirksen, and Luke Jones on the offensive line for this class. With signing day wrapping up look for the staff to try and pull in one more and maybe a shocker. Make sure to follow @irishdaily10 for the latest updates on Notre Dame.
